Cookie Policy

Version 2026-05-12 · Effective 2026-05-12

Effective date: 12 May 2026 Last updated: 12 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Mentor Beauty Apps EOOD ("Mentor", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage, session storage, pixels, and SDKs) on our learner web app, mentor web app, admin web app, and mobile apps (collectively, the "Service").

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more broadly. By using the Service, you agree to the use of strictly necessary cookies as described below. Where required by law (including Directive 2002/58/EC, the "ePrivacy Directive", as implemented in Bulgaria), all other cookies are set only with your consent.

If you have questions about this Policy, contact office@mybeautymentors.com.

1. What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the website to recognize your device, remember preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used.

We also use similar technologies that work in comparable ways:

  • Local storage and session storage — key/value data stored by your browser, used (for example) to remember UI state, language, and to cache authentication tokens.
  • Mobile SDKs — code embedded in our mobile apps that performs similar functions, such as session persistence via secure storage.
  • Pixels and beacons — small images or scripts in emails or pages that report when content has been opened or loaded.

In this Policy, "cookies" refers to all of these technologies unless otherwise stated.

Cookies can be first-party (set by mybeautymentors.com and its subdomains) or third-party (set by other domains we integrate with, such as Stripe or Google).

By duration:

  • Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies — remain on your device for a set period (or until you delete them).

2. Categories of cookies we use

We classify cookies into the following categories. The specific cookies in each category may change over time as we update the Service; this Policy describes the categories and typical examples.

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the Service to function. They cannot be turned off without breaking core features such as signing in, navigating between pages, and keeping the platform secure. They are exempt from the consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive.

Typical examples:

2.2 Functional cookies

These cookies remember choices you make so the Service can deliver a more personalized experience — such as your preferred language, time zone, theme, or last-visited course. They are not strictly necessary, but they enhance usability.

Typical examples:

  • Theme preference (light/dark).
  • Last-watched lesson position (resume playback).
  • Dismissal state of in-app banners or onboarding tips.
  • Mux player preferences (volume, playback speed).

2.3 Analytics and performance cookies

These cookies help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. They are deployed only with your consent (where consent is required) via our cookie banner. Analytics is delivered through Google Tag Manager with the providers we choose to enable.

Typical examples:

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
_ga, _ga_*Google AnalyticsDistinguishes users for usage analyticsUp to 2 years
_gidGoogle AnalyticsDistinguishes users (24-hour bucket)24 hours
Mux playback analyticsMuxMeasures video performance, buffering, completionSession / persistent
Sentry session/replay identifiersSentry (where enabled)Diagnoses errors and performance issuesShort-lived

We configure analytics with IP-anonymization and minimal data sharing where the provider supports it.

2.4 Marketing and advertising cookies

We may use cookies to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and to show relevant content. These cookies are set only with your consent.

Typical examples:

  • Advertising network conversion pixels (e.g., Google Ads, Meta).
  • UTM-tracking cookies for campaign attribution.
  • Email open/click tracking pixels in marketing emails.

If we enable advertising cookies in the future, we will update this Policy and request your consent before activating them.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties whose services are embedded in or integrated with the Service. These third parties act as independent controllers for their own purposes and are governed by their own privacy and cookie notices. The most relevant third parties are:

  • Stripestripe.com — payment processing and fraud prevention. See https://stripe.com/cookie-settings.
  • Muxmux.com — video streaming and playback analytics. See https://www.mux.com/legal/privacy.
  • Googlegoogle.com, googletagmanager.com, google-analytics.com — tag management and analytics. See https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
  • Sentry (where enabled) — sentry.io — error tracking. See https://sentry.io/legal/privacy/.

We do not control the cookies set by these third parties. Please review their notices for details.

4. How to manage cookies

4.1 In the Service

When you first visit Mentor (and periodically thereafter), our cookie banner lets you:

  • Accept all non-essential cookies;
  • Reject all non-essential cookies; or
  • Manage preferences by category.

You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of our web apps or in your account settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off because the Service will not work without them.

4.2 In your browser

You can control or delete cookies using your browser settings. Most browsers let you:

  • view which cookies are stored;
  • block all cookies, third-party cookies, or specific sites;
  • delete cookies on close.

Helpful guides:

  • Chromehttps://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
  • Firefoxhttps://support.mozilla.org/kb/cookies-information-websites-store-on-your-computer
  • Safari (macOS)https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac
  • Safari (iOS)https://support.apple.com/HT201265
  • Edgehttps://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge

Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will break authentication and other core features.

4.3 In mobile apps

In our mobile apps, you can control similar settings via:

  • iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Settings → Mentor.
  • Android — Settings → Apps → Mentor → Permissions and Settings → Privacy.

You can also reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.

4.4 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our Service responds to the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where applicable: when the GPC signal is present, we treat it as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies and tracking-based advertising in jurisdictions where required.

Browser "Do Not Track" signals are not consistently implemented; we honor explicit consent choices set via our banner instead.

5. Consent and withdrawal

Where consent is the legal basis for cookies (analytics, marketing, and other non-essential categories), we:

  • request consent before placing those cookies;
  • present a clear, balanced choice (no pre-ticked boxes);
  • allow you to withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. After withdrawal, we stop placing the relevant cookies and instruct partners to do the same. Existing cookies on your device may need to be cleared via your browser settings.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our cookie usage. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy and, for material changes, ask for renewed consent through the cookie banner.
